The GAM Safety Coupling Series provides overload protection for servo and motion control systems by mechanically disconnecting the drive from the load during excessive torque events.
This prevents costly damage to components such as motors, gearboxes, and machine elements, while allowing for rapid reset and continued operation.
GAM offers both direct drive and indirect drive safety coupling configurations. Direct drive models connect two shafts together and are paired with either bellows or elastomer couplings. Indirect drive models are designed for pulley, gear, or flange applications, offering flexibility in how torque is transmitted.
With torque capacities up to 9000 Nm, these couplings ensure precise, backlash-free performance while maintaining safety and reliability in dynamic systems.
Key Features:
Provides mechanical overload protection for precision motion systems
Quick-disconnect mechanism prevents equipment damage under excessive torque
Repeatable disengagement torque with zero backlash under normal conditions
Available in bellows, elastomer, and keyed hub configurations
Torque capacities from up to 550 Nm to 9000 Nm depending on model
Compact, high-stiffness construction for servo-driven applications
Compatible with direct and indirect drive setups
Maintenance-free design with high radial and axial load capability
